Dillian Whyte Vs. Otto Wallin maybe for April

Via Jake Tiernan: Dillian Whyte versus Otto Wallin could take place in April in a heavyweight bout that will lead to the winner taking on Anthony Joshua in a lucrative summer bout.

Mike Coppinger reports that promoter for 6’6″ Wallin (24-1, 14 KOs), Dmitry Salita, is exploring a fight with former world heavyweight title challenger Whyte (28-3, 19 KOs) .

It is questioned whether Whyte, 34, would choose to enter this risky fight with Wallin because if Dillian loses, he could forget about making money in the rematch with Joshua he has hope to get in July in a stadium game.

Whyte & Wallin was scheduled to fight two years ago in October 2021, but Dillian suddenly pulled out of the competition, complaining of a shoulder injury.

The interesting way, Whyte quickly signed a contract with WBC champion Tyson Anger for a match in April 2022 and was wiped out after six innings.

Many boxing fans believe Whyte has NEVER been injured and he pulled out of the fight against Wallin when he realized he had the potential to get a big hit against Fury.

Will Dillian come back again?

If Whyte rematches Wallin, there will be many boxing fans counting the days until he suddenly gets injured and retires like the last time he had to fight the big Swedish boxer.

With a Joshua rematch awaiting Whyte in July, it’s hard to think he’ll go up against a boxer of Wallin’s quality.

There’s a lot of loot for Whyte to have a rematch with Joshua, and if all he has to do is sit on the sofa at home and wait until July to cash in, then why would he risk it if he doesn’t have to?

Unless Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn insists that Whyte picks a quality opponent to earn a fight with Joshua and create some distance between Dillian’s horribly lousy performances against Franklin & Fury, it’s unbelievable. he will be willing to show the initiative on his own to risk fighting Wallin.

Hearn will have to be the one to hang the carrot in front of Whyte, telling him that if he wants to get his second payday before AJ, he has to face Wallin. If Hearn doesn’t scare Whyte, he will most likely just sit back and wait for a Joshua rematch in July.
