Dillian Whyte says Fury used “illegal” move by pushing him down, wants rematch

Via Charles Brun: Dillian Whyte Says WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury Used “illegal” two-arm push-ups to help him knock out the sixth round, which resulted in the ‘Body Snatcher’ hitting his head when he fell last Saturday night.

It’s unclear if Whyte hit his head on the canvas as he maintained, as the YouTube Top Rating highlight doesn’t include being knocked down for some weird reason.

It freezes and displays a still image of Whyte on the canvas. ESPN’s replay didn’t show a knockdown either. Again, it’s not clear why the most important scene of the fight wasn’t shown.

Whyte (28-3, 19 KOs) said that the referee should have given him time to recover from the knock-out because it was partly due to the illegal shoving with two hands.

“When the top lane landed, I was buzzing, and he motivated me appropriately, and I fell over, and hit my head on the tarp, that’s against the law. This is not wrestling; this is boxing,” Dillian Whyte told Sky Sports Boxing reflects on his sixth knockout loss last Saturday to Tyson Fury.

When looking at the replay, there was an obvious two-handed push to Fury’s part, wounding Whyte. Fury doesn’t need to push Whyte.

On Fury’s side, the push-up was unnecessary, and it sucks that he skipped the move to help him take down Whyte.

Given that a knock led to a knockout, one can understand where Whyte is coming from feeling that he should have been given time to recover from the knockout. After all, this isn’t big time wrestling where boxers can shove their opponents down the frame.

Fury fans probably won’t feel sorry for Whyte, as they are only happy that their hero has won. However, if you’re objective about it, Whyte should probably be given time to recover as it wasn’t a simple one-handed push Fury gave him.

Unfortunately, Fury used two hands to shove Whyte into the canvas, and if Dillian hit him on the head, as he said, that could be why it hurt so much when he got up.

“But as usual, they let Tyson Fury do what he wanted and get rid of it,” said Whyte. “I should have had more time to recover and continue fighting.”

Fury struggled a lot during the fight, forcing Whyte to lean on the ropes and lean on him without throwing punches. Whyte tries to get Fury to stop hitting him by patting him on the head, but it doesn’t work.

The referee should have stopped his tactic of hitting Fury by removing him from Whyte because it seems Fury is turning the fight into a wrestling match under those circumstances.

“He pushed me and then said to the referee, ‘Don’t let the fight continue.’ I hope he doesn’t retire because I want to keep going“Whyte said.
