As he prepared for a return ring, Dillian Whyte told the man of the moment, Joe Joyce, that he had the strength to defeat him.
Among so many Justifiable praise for Joyce’s ability to pass punches – and to keep throwing them back – boxing fans discussed the possibility that any heavyweight has the power to stop ‘The Juggernaut.’
The answers and theories are mixed, but for a man there is no doubt. Whyte spoke to Sky Sports about his chances against Joyce.
“Joe Joyce is a good fighter. He is a strong guy. He takes a lot of punches but, it’s like this, some of those guys have amazing chins, one night it just came – boom – and it was gone just like that. And I believe I have the power to knock anyone on this planet. I just had to knock the punch, and I could take any of these guys down. So does Joe Joyce.

‘The Bodysnatcher’ certainly has some standout knockouts on his record – most as a result of a cruel left hook. Elsewhere, however, Joyce received giant bombs from big men, including Joseph Parker on Saturday night.
It’s not recent bias to say that ‘The Juggernaut’ has one of the best chins in the business. The simple truth is that he proved it by never getting frustrated or stuck in 15 professional heavyweight fights. That, combined with his reported bone density of 5 times that of the average person, definitely makes it true.
Perhaps the two Britons will face off and put the matter to bed. The two seem to be looking for rivals, and it’s going to be a fight that fans are sure to return to to see if this matter is resolved once and for all.
