DigiLocker has successfully completed the second level of integration with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and users can now store health records digitally and link them to their Ayushman Bharat Medical Account. DigiLocker aims to Digitally Empower citizens by providing access to authentic digital documents. Documents released in the DigiLocker system are considered to be on par with the original physical documents.
DigiLocker previously completed level 1 integration with ABDM wherein the platform added facility to create ABHA or Ayushman Bharat Medical Accounts for its 13 crore users. The latest integration will now allow users to use DigiLocker as a Personal Health Record (PHR) application.
Additionally, Ayushman Bharat holders can also link their health records from Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission registered medical facilities such as hospitals and laboratories and access them through DigiLocker, a statement from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Thursday.
Users can also scan and upload their old health records on the app. Furthermore, they can share the selected profile with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission’s registered healthcare professionals.
RS Sharma, CEO of the National Health Service (NHA), said: “Under ABDM, we are building a health ecosystem that can work inter-plan for more users and add more more functions.”
“DigiLocker is a trusted and popular application for accessing authentication documents. Therefore, it is a significant development as users can now use it as a PHR application and receive the benefits of paperless record keeping,” the CEO added in the statement.
Health lock services are now available to all DigiLocker registered users.
