Visitors to the late Queen were stunned to see French President Emmanuel Macron strolling along the Thames in London.

In a softer moment during the Queen’s official mourning, the VIP and his wife, Brigitte, who had previously come to see Her Majesty lie in state, decided to take a walk through the Sunday sunshine. in London – and social media loved it.

The President mingled with those gathered in the streets around the parliament – and was even said to have been spotted outside a branch of Greggs.

One person tweeted, under a photo that appeared to show the well-dressed leader, complete with designer sunglasses: “Juste un petit voyage incognito à Greggs” – “Just a little anonymous trip to Greggs “!

Someone replied: “Je voudrais un grilled steak.”

Mr Macron ditched his signature blue suit for a darker navy jacket, dark pants and black shoes for a walk.

Apparently he decided to “anonymously” gauge the mood of the British public.

But as they passed through central London, surrounded by aides and security guards, they remained “incognito”.

“Possibly the least anonymous person I’ve ever seen,” added some on social media, including Alix Mortimer, adding: “As the saying goes, ‘the more talent you have to disguise yourself as a human being, the more talent you have. giraffe in black glasses just tried to get into a polar bears’ golf club.”

Online video shows passersby turning their heads to stare at the entourage, some recognizing the silhouette, some not.
