When the NFL’s 100 Greatest Players of All Time List was assembled in 2010, legendary Chicago Bears midfield midfielder Dick Butkus was voted 10th by the council. He was presented by longtime Indianapolis Colts offensive line coach Howard Mudd. A story he told about Butkus pretty much summed up the personality of the legend at the time.

“[Newly hired Bears coach] Jim Dooley had a team meeting, and Butkus said, ‘Hey Jim, let me talk,’ Mudd said. “Jim Dooley let him talk. That’s Dick. So Dick said, “You know, we’re not going to have any damn problems here if you guys are going to get your heads off your ass and play like you have to.”

Perfect name… at the time.

Today, as one of the NFL’s older statesmen, he’s found a third career as a funny uncle. Extreme pain to lose Double Doink for Bears fans, Butkus received got too excited while messing around with the crowd and lost his hat damn near adorable. Even standing next to Brian Urlacher, who became a Hall of Famer in the middle, is nowhere near the center now.

So, after an eye-popping win on Sunday, who better to lift the spirits of Bears fans than Uncle Dick. He was at Halas Hall on Tuesday night and was given access to the team’s Twitter account. Butkus just brooded around the building for a few hours taking random photos and videos. The best part is the scene where he shoots the clothes and the floor for 15 seconds. Reminds you of those Zoom family calls from 2020.

The very next video is him trying to film himself by a fancy decoration of his name and number. I don’t know if that was his first try at it, but it sure helped him for a while so that the phone’s camera clearly shows his face. Come on, Dick, turn the camera around and make sure your face is at eye level with the lens. Butkus landed perfectly when, in his last tweet, he spelled TikTok “Tick-tock. “

Of course, it’s another example of the Bears clinging to their past when their future looks shaky, but teams with living legends should take them. Give the Bears credit. This is definitely a creative way to do so. Also, Butkus was a perfect choice because while he struggled with the camera, he gained some experience with the social network. Bears fans definitely get a kick from him tease Aaron Rodgers

Since the end of his career, the legend of the Chicago Vocational High School for the first time changed from a grumpy, cocky, grumpy person to a glamorous actor. Sure, in most of his roles he plays the tough guy, but he can still have fun with it and not be a brute from the “real man” football era. with workouts three days a day, limited cushioning, and even less money. Is he a former football player who ran a diner in My two sonsor head basketball coach in Hanging time he brought a real sense of humor to the roles. A lovely tough butt is always good for television.

Butkus ruled the NFL for nearly 10 years through terror and intimidation, six decades ago. Now, he’s bringing some much-needed laughter to his many nieces and nephews, who still adore his team.
