The Alchemist in Diablo 4

For starters, the Alchemist is your one-stop shop for increasing the potency of healing potions. By default in Diablo 4, you start with the least effective healing potion. However, after you reach level 10 you can visit the Alchemist’s shop and upgrade your potion to the next level. You’ll need the necessary ingredients to do so, but those aren’t hard to come by. You can find your own ingredients by selecting bushes in the world and opening Herb Caches, which are sometimes given to you as a quest reward.

As you continue to level up in Diablo 4, you can keep returning to the shop to continuously upgrade your healing potions. Here are the levels where you can increase the potency of your healing potion (according to Diablo 4 beta):

  • Weak healing potion – Level 1
  • Tiny Healing Potion – Level 10
  • Minor Healing Potion – Level 20
  • Light Healing Potion – Level 30
  • Moderate healing potion – Level 45
  • Powerful Healing Potion – Level 60
  • Better Healing Potion – Level 70
  • Main Healing Potion – Level 80
  • High-grade healing potion – Level 90

You should be aware that the Alchemist will only increase the potency of your potion. The number of potions you have available only increases as Reputation is earned in different areas of Sanctuary. As you level up your Reputation in each region, some of the rewards you get will be additional healing potions. It is thought you can have up to 10 healing potions at a time, but we’ll have to wait for the game’s full release in June to confirm that.

Create elixir with Alchemist

The other main feature of the Alchemist in Diablo 4 is the crafting of Elixir. At the start of Diablo 4, you will not have access to any Elixirs. However, as you progress, complete more quests and find new ingredients, the Elixir tab at the shop will start to be filled with a number of recipes that you can craft to aid you in combat. or explore. During the beta, we got access to nine different Elixir which you can see below.

  • Weakly crushed elixir

Most Elixirs require two ingredients to craft, but some of the more advanced ones will require more. You’ll also have to pay a fee for crafting Elixir, so make sure you don’t go overboard based solely on how many ingredients you have. When looking at Elixirs, you’ll see a number in parentheses next to each category. This tells you the variety of Elixir you can craft based on your current gold and material supply. By hovering over any one of the Elixirs, you can see the ingredients needed to make it and what supports it gives your character.

The elixir can only be consumed at a time, so once you’ve taken one, you can’t activate another. Also, all Elixir lasts for 30 minutes, as far as we can tell from the beta. To see all of your Elixir, you can press “C” to open your character menu. On the bottom inventory window, click the “Consumables” tab and you can see every Elixir you currently have. While most Elixir will be used for specific combat purposes, such as boss fights and dungeons, you can also use them to increase your XP. An Elixir such as the Weak Iron Barb Elixir gives a 5% XP boost, which can be quite helpful on your journey to max level in Diablo 4. Instructions to increase XP in Diablo 4you can read our previous tutorial.

Finally, if you want to extract certain ingredients to craft certain Elixir, Alchemist allows you to do so by scrolling through the store’s rightmost tab. Here you can see what components you currently have and which can be used to create more resources. There will probably be other uses for The Alchemist in the full Diablo 4 build, but we’ll have to wait and see what those uses might be.
