A study published in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, in 2016, confirmed these claims after conducting a meta-analysis of eight trials involving 470 patients.

Tests showed that aloe significantly improved fasting blood sugar, but had little or no effect on hemoglobin, which reflects blood sugar levels from the previous 90 days.

The authors note: “Current evidence suggests several potential benefits of Aloe vera in improving glycemic control in prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.”

However, the researchers state that the limitations of the existing evidence require further research to confirm these results.
