Devin Haney reacts directly to Ryan Garcia’s KO win and Gervonta ‘tank’ Davis calls out

After the anti-climate victory over Emmanuel Tagoe on his last outing, good and true Ryan Garcia declared himself back as a sport’s superstar with a Javier Fortuna’s 6th round KO.

Fortuna, a former WBA Super Featherweight champion, seems unaffected by all the fuss that comes with fighting Garcia. The 33-year-old Dominican tried to cause discomfort, but Garcia’s performance proved that there is class in the sport.

‘KingRy’ made its unofficial debut at Super Lightweight on Saturday and now it seems inevitable that much bigger battles lie ahead.

In his post-fight press conference, as expected, Garcia calls Gervonta ‘The Tank’ Davis:

“I’m not going back to 135 (lbs) for nothing.”

“But I will fight Tank [Davis] next. If Tank wants that at 140”.

“If he wants it, get it!”

With so much talent in lightweight and Super Lightweight, it’s inconceivable to think that fans won’t get to see some of the big fights over the next 12 months.

The current king of the 135lb lightweight is Devin Haney, who became the undisputed champion after defeating George Kambosos Jr in Australia last month.

Although a contractual rematch clause has been introduced, it seems the fight is still in doubt; and with Haney already announced ready to go up to 140lbs, could we see a potential gunfight with Garcia next?
