Destiny, Horizon and John Wick star Lance Reddick dies aged 60

Actor Lance Reddick, best known for playing Cedrick Daniels on HBO’s hit series The Wire, has died aged 60. TMZ be the first to report, with Diversity then confirm with his representative that the cause is natural.

Reddick is on a press tour for the upcoming fourth installment of the John Wick series, in which he plays the character Charon. However, he didn’t attend the film’s premiere in New York City and – like TMZ also reported–instead, he posted a selfie video on social media with his dogs without any explanation for his absence.

In addition to The Wire and John Wick, Lance has recurring roles on popular TV shows such as Fringe, Bosch, Oz, and Lost. He also appeared in films such as Angel Has Fallen and Godzilla Vs. Kong. Reddick has also been a voice actor for many video games including a long-running role in Destiny and Destiny 2 as Commander Zavala, who served as one of the series’ key characters. He has also appeared in the Horizon, Quantum Break and John Wick Hex series.

Lance has several unreleased projects in the works, including playing the Greek god Zeus in the upcoming Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Lance earned a degree in music from the University of Rochester and later earned an MFA from Yale.
