Destiny 2 Iron Banner in Action: Rewards, Challenges, and How to Maximize Fame

For the first time since the release of Lightfall, destiny 2Iron Banner mode is active. This limited-time PvP mode offers some tweaks from how it worked in the past, but overall it’s the standard Iron Banner experience, complete with familiar rewards and fame. Here’s what could happen between now and March 28, when the mode ends with a weekly reset.

One important thing to know: An issue is currently preventing the mode’s weekly challenge from appearing. Normally, completing certain Iron Banner matches will contribute to earning the Peak reward (a key part of increasing your Power level past 1800), but Bungie has admit The related challenge does not show up in the game. Therefore, you may want to pause before investing too much time in Iron Banners.

Iron Banner game mode

For the first of three Iron Banner events in Season of Challenge, the game mode is Iron Banner Control. The eruption will take place in Week 6 (currently just two weeks away – this first event has been delayed due to invisible player error), while Fortress will be in Week 9. Bungie says the seasons in The future may introduce other new Iron Banner mode variations, but none of which will pop up this season. Controlling the Iron Banner works the same way as standard Control, except capturing all three zones temporarily locks them down and allows you to earn bonus points for hunting down the enemy team.

Iron Banner Rewards

As for the rewards, the loot pool now includes two Iron Banner weapons back, the Bite of the Fox sniper rifle, and the Jorum’s Claw pulse rifle. You can focus Iron Banner icons on these (and other weapons and armor) if you’ve obtained them before. If you haven’t earned them before, you’ll get Bite of the Fox (with Rapid Hit and Iron Gaze) at Rank 4 and Jorum’s Claw (with Moving Target and Incandescent Light) at Rank 7. That’s two parts. The first bonus you will be able to receive from Lord Saladin at the Tower. Unfortunately, you’ll need to reset your rank at least once before earning the Iron Banner shader.

As with many other vendors these days, talking to Saladin will allow you to focus the engravings on specific rewards (and those engravings will be stored with him, not in your inventory). ). Those bonuses include not only the current items in the loot inventory, but also a range of older weapons (Frontier’s Cry, Riiswalker, etc.) and armor sets. Each of these costs one Iron carving along with 25-50 Legendary Shards and 5,000-10,000 Rays of Light. Alternatively, you can just decode the engrams directly from Saladin for a random reward.

This is one of your three chances to complete Week 3 Seasonal challenge Iron Grinding Iron. This involves completing Iron Banner matches, with bonus progress earned for wins. As with most seasonal challenges, this will reward you with Bright Dust and XP, in addition to what you earn playing Iron Banner.

Finally, as noted above, you’ll be able to earn the Peak reward for completing enough Iron Banner matches, but the challenge involved is Unavailable. However, Iron Banner matches still contribute to the Peak challenge to play three Crucibles per week.

How to maximize Iron Banner reputation

Last season, Bungie adjusted the amount of Iron Banner fame earned from wins, encouraging you to win even more. Remember that there are several factors that affect the amount of reputation you earn. Equipping the Iron Banner and Iron Banner weapon or armor (up to five pieces in total) increases the multiplier, which can be seen by hovering over the Rank Up icon in the bottom left when selecting Iron Banner in the director. If you don’t already have the Iron Banner icon in your Collection, you will unlock the one pictured below at Rank 16.

Also, keep in mind that applying decorations from Iron Banner armor will count for the purposes of these bonuses; you don’t really need the armor you’re wearing that’s derived from Iron Banner. Besides all of this, completing challenges – which simply involve playing Iron Banner – will further increase your reputation multiplier. Once again, however, the Iron Banner-specific challenge is currently absent from the game.
