Destiny 2 anti-cheat software unfairly banned players, repair and reverse ban in progress
According to Bungie, human error related to new cheat detection software caused incorrect bans to occur in Destiny 2.
Human error in a new fraud detection caused a number of incorrect bans this week. We’ve disabled new detection while investigating bugs and dealing with related unblocks. All existing anti-fraud systems are still in effect.

The account Bungie Help posted this message on Twitter on October 3. The tweet also states that the new fraud detection feature has been turned off. The software will remain shut down until the bug is found and the related unblocks are handled. However, existing anti-fraud measures remain in place, ensuring fraudsters won’t rampage during this time.
The tweet did not provide further details on what the error was, what the specific cause was, or if the player was unjustly banned and will receive compensation. However, the tweet promises that the upcoming This Week At Bungie will contain more details regarding the bug and upcoming fixes.
In other Destiny 2 news, Bungie has identified a fix for Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk Hunter Exoticwill be out in mid-October. This week has seen release a new patch Addresses frustration with weapon crafting in the Ongoing Loot section. Players can now also solve Challenges of Week 7 Part. With the upcoming closure of Google Stadia, Bungie is currently considering “next steps” for Stadia-dependent Destiny 2 players and will publish a plan when it has a plan.
