Via Chris Williams: Deontay Wilder is still bitter about his two losses to Tyson Fury, feels cheated, and says he wants to fight him a fourth time.
Wilder has spoken out in the past about his belief that Fury had something in his gauntlet during their second fight. It was never proven, so there’s nothing Deontay can say about it.
What we do know is that Wilder never seemed to recover from being hit by a stick with Fury’s right hand punch from Fury during the third round of their second fight in February 2020. If Wilder wants to. complain about anything, the punching rabbit is the way to go. .
Former WBC Heavyweight Champion Wilder says he didn’t go to authorities because he believed Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) cheated because he wanted a chance to punish him and make millions in the process this.
If Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) wins the next two bouts against Robert Helenius and Andy Ruiz Jr, he will be locked as Fury’s WBC mandatory opponent if by that point he is still is the champion.
Fury’s future is a bit murky right now as he’s likely to lose to either Anthony Joshua or Oleksandr Usyk, both of whom have the tools to defeat him.
“Most certainly,” Deontay Wilder said to Fighthype when asked if he wants to fight a fourth time against Tyson Fury. “No, never, because I know the truth behind that,” Deontay said of the possibility of burying the hatched child and befriending Tyson.
Wilder has two formidable hoops that he must jump through for a chance to fight Fury a third time. At this point, it’s too early to tell if Deontay will defeat Helenius and Ruiz.
