Via Huck Allen: Deontay Wilder will battle dangerous boxer Robert Helenius on October 15 in his return bout in the FOX Sports pay-per-view WBC heavyweight fight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Former WBC Heavyweight Champion Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) decided not to play it safe for his comeback fight, as he picked one of the toughest fighters in the tournament at 6 ‘6 ″ Helenius for their 12th round clash in the main event.
The winner of the Wilder vs. Helenius will be the mandatory WBC for champ Tyson Fury, who now says he’s retired.
Deontay Wilder told the PBC Podcast about returning to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn: “I’m so excited to be back home because that’s where I’ve had some of the best electronic knockouts.
“I look forward to adding to that. I’m so excited to be back in Brooklyn to continue to bring my greatness to the world.
“I think he is a great fighter. He is very long and can be patient at times. He has a heart of gold. He won’t give up. He has a military background, so he knows how to fight and maintain it. He won’t give up.
“It will be an interesting fight for me and Robert. We know each other in the ring, and we know what both are capable of. So I’m going to need to come up with something different that he hasn’t seen before and bring it to him that way.
“He is probably thinking the same thing. So it will be an interesting fight while it lasts. I am looking forward to a great challenge. A lot of people will get their money’s worth. They will have a great performance on my comeback fight.
“He is [Helenius] was done very well. He’s on a winning streak right now. He must feel good about it and feel very confident in himself about it. I’m so excited for him and I’m excited to come to Brooklyn for this one.
“Robert used to come to my house, so we were pretty cool and were his coaches. It won’t be a fight where you have two enemies against each other,” Deontay said.
