Fire trucks rushed to Khan market right after the fire broke out

A 23-year-old man set his bike on fire at the posh Khan Market area in Delhi and began hurling rocks at police as they tried to arrest him. He was eventually overpowered and taken into custody after dramatic scenes drew a very large crowd. He was later arrested.
Sunday’s incident has sparked panic in the luxury market area, home to popular restaurants and showrooms of some well-known brands.
According to a police source, Nadeem, 23, went to the market the day before to get food from one of the restaurants there. While he was waiting to receive the package, a couple passed by. The woman accused him of staring at her and complaining at the police outpost there.
While no written complaint was registered, one of the police officers on duty slapped Nadeem. Dissatisfied with this, he returned the next day and burned his two-wheeler, sources said.
Police and fire engines rushed to the scene shortly after the fire broke out. The fire from the two-wheeler spread to a nearby furniture store before they were brought under control.
Police arrived and found defendant Nadeem, a resident of Hauz Rani, with aggressive behavior under the influence of alcohol. PTI news agency quoted police as saying he was then restrained.
Nadeem works in a company that provides bike taxi aggregating and logistics services in India.
Video recorded on the spot showed the bike on fire as Nadeem threw rocks at police to avoid arrest. A separate clip shows the man after he was arrested. As the police took him away, he heard screams of insults.
A huge crowd is seen gathering on the spot and fences are seen on the ground, showing the chaos caused by the dramatic episode.
