Delhi Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam has resigned

Delhi Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam resigned today, following strong protests by the BJP over his presence at a conversion event in Delhi on Friday.
After resigning, Mr. Gautam tweeted: “Today is the epiphany day of Maharishi Valmiki ji and on the other hand also the anniversary of Manyavar Kanshi Ram Saheb’s death anniversary. Coincidentally, today I was freed from many shackles and today I was born again. Now I will continue to fight for rights and cruelty in society more firmly without any restrictions.”

Mr. Gautam’s resignation was significant given the fact that his presence at the religious conversion event caused the BJP to issue an attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which claimed to be the main rival to governing the BJP in Gujarat, where assembly elections take place. is expected to be held later this year.
The AAP minister was attacked by the BJP and also sparked criticism against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after allegedly attending a religious conversion event where Hindu gods were denounced. At the event, hundreds of people pledged to convert to Buddhism.
Following the incident, the BJP launched an attack on Mr. Kejriwal, demanding that he fire Mr. Gautam.
AAP officers removed anti-AAP posters before Mr Kejriwal’s protest in Vadodara of Gujarat yesterday. The workers took down all the anti-AAP posters and banners hung on the party chief’s path to the protest site. Protesting against Mr Gautam’s alleged “anti-Hindu” statements, supporters of the ruling BJP in Vadodara of Gujarat tore down AAP banners in front of the ‘Tiranga Rally’ yesterday.
Resist BJP Charges and Spells “Jai Shri Ram” While addressing a party rally in Vadodara yesterday, Mr. Kejriwal said: “It is Hanuman ka bhakt hun. Aur ye Kansa ki aulaad hain (I am a disciple of Hanuman, while they are descendants of Kansa.)
He added: “I was born on Janmashtami. God sent me a special motive: Let’s destroy Kansa aulaad and corrupt people. “
