Hi everybody! Today we’re excited to announce Death Note Killer Inside, a brand new online social deduction game for up to 10 players where you can play as iconic characters from the Death Note series. The key to this game is the Death Note, because the person whose name is written in this notebook will die! But be careful, this deadly note lurks between you and the other players, setting the stage for a thrilling game of strategy and deception. Play as Kira and judge other players with the Death Note or play as L and collect clues to catch the killer. Get ready to uncover the truth and defeat your opponents to win.
Death Note Killer Inside will be available on both PS5 and PS4 on November 5, and was included in the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games list for November.
Game overview
In Death Note Killer Inside, there are four unique player roles: Kira, Kira Follower, L, and Investigator. Players can choose their desired role at the start of the game, but depending on various selection factors, the system will assign each player a final role based on availability. Players will be divided into two teams: team Kira and Kira Follower, with the main goal of eliminating L, or team L and Investigator, with the goal of capturing Kira.
The game progresses through two main phases: a cycle of Action Phase, where players can gather clues and complete their respective missions, and Meeting Phase, where players come together to discuss and attempt to arrest Kira based on suspicious behavior during the Action Phase.
If L is eliminated during the Action Phase, Kira’s team wins. However, if Kira is captured during the Encounter Phase, the Death Note will be canceled and Team L will win. Additionally, by completing various objectives during the Action Phase, players can contribute to leveling up their team’s Progress meter, and the first team to max out their Progress meter wins in game.
Player’s role
If you are “Kira”, you will start with the Death Note and use it to eliminate NPCs and other players. However, to rate a player, you need an ID with the player’s real name. You can achieve this by staying close to the target for a short period of time, but don’t act too suspicious or you will be questioned during the Encounter Phase.
As a “Kira Tracker,” your job is to steal the Investigator’s ID and secretly work alongside Kira, communicating privately with the Transceiver. Additionally, Death Notes can be transferred between Kira and Kira Followers so you can even become the next Kira! Make transfers at the right time to fool other players.
“Investigators” play a key role in identifying the real Kira as they gather clues to aid in their inference. Be wary of suspicious players getting too close to you as your ID could be stolen if they are Kira or a Kira Follower. Investigators also carry out objectives such as asking NPCs to give testimonials, which helps reveal information about Kira.
If you become “L”, unlike regular investigators, he has special actions that help him gain valuable information during the Action Phase, such as giving orders to the player Others investigate and set up surveillance cameras. L can also facilitate discussion during the Meeting Phase to narrow down suspicious players. Strategically use your special actions to get one step closer to discovering the truth and capturing Kira.
To win, you must work together
Death Note Killer Inside encourages players to work together as a team to complete their goals. Each of the four roles has its own unique gameplay characteristics. Depending on your assigned role, a variety of strategies can be constructed and each random scenario develops into a high-stakes tactical game.
For example, the Death Note can be transferred between Kira and the Kira Follower, allowing them to misdirect investigators. L can narrow down the scope of suspects by providing guidance in the Action Phase and discussion guidance in the Meeting Phase to effectively drive team deductions.

Customize your game avatar with hats, glasses, masks and various accessories to stand out from the crowd. But that’s not all, you can even choose custom nameplates and choose special animations to display during important moments of the game.
