Dead Space remake developers say the entire game is “one shot in a row” without loading

Motive Studios has detailed some of the ways their upcoming classic sci-fi survival horror remake Dead space will be different, like the new screenshot of the game that was cropped on the original Xbox Store listing. One blog post from the developers sharing how they’ve remade the setting of the USG game Ishimura, along with bringing the main character Isaac Clarke in line with Dead Spaces 2 and 3. They’re also finding time to wrap up the story with other characters. Additional side quests.

Dead Space was announced at EA Play 2021.

The engine says that the core of Dead Space will remain the same, but among the changes coming to Dead Space is the lore “re-created” from the original sequel and the comics. Part of this gave Isaac a voice, just like in later games. A number of side characters are also included in the game more, in what Motive calls “narrative side quests”. Thanks to technological advancements since the original, Motive is now able to transform the Ishimura into a “completely interconnected” ship.

“We are also actually creating the entire game as a continuous shot,” said senior producer Philippe Ducharme. “From the moment you start the game until you finish the game, there are no camera cuts or loading screens – unless you die.” You’ll be able to take Isaac around the ship, returning to areas to discover things he may have missed. Blame the helmet.

All of this is Motive emphasizing that there’s more to the Dead Space remake than just a simple technical and graphical overhaul for the 2020s, but they’ve put a lot of effort into that as well. . Lights and shadows are enhanced, and the Necromorph’s cleavage is more detailed than before. You will be able to explode to the bone, stripping their flesh. There will also be some suspended soup volume fog for you to get lost and worried about.

The remake developers have set themselves the hard work of “rebuilding the game from the ground up and adding new content and modern enhancements to the mix — but never betraying the original.” I think I understand what they mean, but it’s easy to lose fans by over-training. Engine says they’ve tried to avoid this by engaging a group of Dead Space dead as consultants, meeting with them regularly and giving them “full access” to the development process.

Along with additional information from Motive, three screenshots of the remake have surfaced on US Xbox Store Page. New images show Isaac exploring USG Ishimura and facing a lone Necromorph enemy. It’s a significantly brighter picture of how Dead Space is being reimagined with EA’s Frostbite engine than the gloomy and sad screens that currently pop up on Steam’s store page for the game.

We still haven’t seen too many new Dead Space Motives in action. While the developers have shared a few behind-the-scenes videos since the game’s existence was revealed at EA Play last year, the new screenshots give a much clearer impression of the revival. What this Dead Space’s birth will be like when it comes out in 2023. I especially like the look of the Necromorph, although Isaac’s collarless shoes look cool as well.

Dead Space remake is scheduled to release on January 27, 2023 in Steam and Source.
