DAZN Throws Me Under the Bus

IBF featherweight champion Josh Warrington believes DAZN ‘throw him under the bus’ with the level of coverage they showed after his second bout against Mauricio Lara.

After being brutally knocked down in their first bout, many boxing fans branded the relatively unknown Mexican as the ‘Leeds Warriors Rogue’ ahead of the rematch. However, after just two innings, the match was cut short after a nasty head collision.

32 years old told Boxing SocialThat DAZN, with whom he is still under contract, appears to instigate a story in which Warrington is grateful for his lucky escape, rather than frustrated at not being able to avenge ‘Bronco’ Lara.

“DAZN, same promotional outfit and that but they threw me off the bus.

Behind the scenes, they paint a picture as if I’m grateful I got out of the ring and that I’m still alive. I’m cheering for all my fans and that, when I was devastated, I almost broke down in tears.

It’s all like ‘I made it, I’m back, I’m not dead!’, Mauricio suffers from not being able to kill me, that’s how they paint it.

If you’re watching and you don’t know what the hell is going on, you’re like ‘poor Lara, he didn’t have a chance to kill that Warrington’.”

Despite being hit by DAZN’s coverage, Warrington happily boxed in on their platform.

Since his brief rematch with Lara, he has regained his IBF world title by beat Kiko Martinez at the first Live Arena in March and battle it out on live broadcast again next month.

Warrington fought another Mexican boxer on December 10, Luis Alberto Lopezwho has seven kills in his last nine matches.

If Warrington passes this test, there are two wars the public will call for, or the third fight with Lara or unify the world title against fellow Brit Leigh Wood.
