David Prutton’s Sky Bet Championship Predictions | Football news
Who is David Prutton going to win the Sky Bet Championship this weekend? Find out here…
Norwich vs Millwall8pm Friday – Live on Sky Sports Football
Norwich finally got their mark midweek, though that might seem an odd thing to say after just four games of the season! Still, it’s a huge win for Dean Smith and his team, and it should take some of the pressure off.
You think you’ve seen it all in the Championship, and then you see how Millwall got to a draw against Swansea on Tuesday night. It’s hard to believe. I think that will give them confidence to go to Carrow Road and get a draw.
Prutton’s prediction: 1-1 (Sky Bet odds)
Preston vs Watford3 p.m. Saturday
It was a strange old start to Preston’s season. Up to now, 6 points, 4 clean sheets and only 1 goal – completely unbelievable – have been scored.
It’s hard to know what will happen to Watford because you just don’t know what their lineup will look like at the end of the window. But with the roster they have now, I think they should give this nickname.
Prutton’s prediction: 0-1 (Sky Bet odds)
Sheffield United vs Blackburn3 p.m. Saturday
It was a decent win for Sheffield United against Sunderland in midweek, although they did benefit somewhat from a red card early in the first half. They are continuing to build some momentum under Paul Heckingbottom.
Not many can see Blackburn’s defeat against Reading coming up, especially their form, after the way they’ve started the season. But that’s just the championship. Home win here for me.
Prutton predicts: 2-1 (Sky Bet odds)
Swansea vs Luton3 p.m. Saturday
Swansea will need to get the way they threw away Millwall’s lead from their minds and focus on this game, because it’s a great chance for a first home win of the season.
Luton started the campaign badly. That can be a bit of a play-off hangover, because they’ve poured everything into an unbelievable season and it’s going to take them a little while. It could be a fruitless afternoon for them in South Wales.
Prutton’s prediction: 1-0 (Sky Bet odds)
West Brom vs Hull3 p.m. Saturday
Bad West Brom, desperately need a win. Steve Bruce says they lack a few bodies, but still have enough quality in that squad to start better than they already have. It doesn’t take long to create pressure in this tournament
Hull got off to a much better start, and secured a solid draw against Burnley in a game where they were mostly overwhelmed. That shows their determination, even though they are a growing team under Shota Arveladze. I think they will be next to it.
Prutton’s prediction: 0-1 (Sky Bet odds)
Bristol City vs Cardiff12 noon Sunday – Live on Sky Sports Football
It may not be entirely clear from Nigel Pearson’s post-match reaction, but Bristol City actually had a pretty decent first win of the season against Luton in midweek.
Cardiff had a draw against West Brom on Wednesday night to continue their good start. They don’t score or concede much, but progress seems to be being made. I will draw in this match.
Prutton’s prediction: 1-1 (Sky Bet odds)
