A hospital worker who murdered two women and abused corpses to dispose of them has been charged with 16 more sex crimes, police said.

David Fuller was awarded a life sentence last year about the murders of Wendy Knell and Caroline Pierce in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, in 1987.

The electrician also filmed himself abusing corpses, including a nine-year-old girl and a 100-year-old woman, in the hospital morgue more than 12 years before his arrest in December 2020.

Kent Police said Fuller67, has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting 78 women who died in burial pits at Tunbridge Wells Hospital and at the former Kent and Sussex Hospital between 2008 and 2020.

After an investigation resulted in evidence of 101 victims in the murders, Fuller was charged with additional charges related to the remaining 23 victims, Kent Police said.

Thirteen of the other 23 victims – all adult women – have been officially identified but police have yet to identify the remaining 10 women, the force added.

Fuller will appear via video link before Medway Magistrates Court on Thursday.

He is faced with:

• 10 counts under section 70 of the Sex Crimes Act 2003. These charges relate to crimes involving 10 identified victims.

• Two other offenses under section 70 of the Sexual Offenses Act 2003. These charges relate to crimes involving three unidentified victims.
