Data from Black Beauty Mars meteorite could shed light on history on Mars


Back in 2011, a Martian meteorite called Northwest Africa 7034 was found in the Sahara Desert. Dubbed the Black Beauty, the meteorite is believed to contain some of the oldest flaming material on Mars. Now, in a new study, researchers have found the origin of meteorites on the Red Planet. These findings have the potential to help shed light on the early history of Mars and its environment then.

A team of researchers from Australia’s Curtin University studied the chemical and physical properties of meteorite fragment to locate its origin on Mars.
