The pair, who were childhood friends in both elementary and high school, reconnected in 2017 and rekindled their romance last year.
The incident comes after Danielle recently spoke out for the first time about the terrifying moment when it was discovered Victoria Police had leaked photos that drew public attention of her transition to being a woman.

Laidley was arrested in 2020 for stalking and violating a domestic violence order, leading to a good 18-month relationship with no conviction or fine.
The officers who arrested her leaked a photo of her wearing a wig and makeup to social media, and it quickly went viral.
Laidley said she found the whole legal process ‘tough in the long run’ and took down the police that leaked the photos.
“The photos are an invasion of privacy,” she told 60 Minutes.

Victoria Police’s internal disciplinary panel ordered 11 officers, ranging in rank from police officer to sergeant, to pay up to $3,000 to Laidley out of their own pocket.
Deputy Commissioner Shane Patton formally apologized to Laidley after the photos went viral, saying he was ‘appalled’ by the officer’s behaviour.
Laidley was born Dean James Laidey and played 151 AFL games for the West Coast Eagles and North Melbourne before having a 149-game coaching career with the Kangaroos.
Although it was only 5 years ago that Laidley was officially diagnosed with gender dysphoria, and it is only in 2020 when the transition begins, which is something Laidley has carried with her for a long time.
