Damar Hamlin spoke up in a video for the first time since he was scary collapsed on the field at the Monday Night Football game on January 2nd. Buffalo Bills’ safety was with him Instagram on Saturday, January 28 to let fans know that he is grateful for all the love and support he has received while recovering from a near-fatal cardiac arrest he suffered. at the age of 24. Captioning the six-minute video “From The Heart,” Hamlin said it was important for him to wait to speak in public at “the right time,” as it was “a lot of things to deal with in myself – mentally, physically, even mentally.”
“I cannot tell you how much I appreciate all the love and support and everything that is coming my way,” Hamlin began. “What happened to me on ‘Monday Night Football’ which I feel is a direct example of God using me as a vessel to share passion and love directly from my heart with around the world and I can give that back to the children and communities around the world who need it most, and that has always been my dream. That’s always what I stand for and what I will continue to stand for.
Hamlin went on to give a special shout out to staff at the University of Cincinnati medical center, identifying the names of many people who “acted knowingly and skillfully to save my life” after he was taken there. after cardiac arrest in the game Bills. against the Cincinnati Bengals. He was eventually taken to the Gates General Medical Center/Veillary Institute in Buffalo, where he stayed for two more days before being rushed to the emergency room. discharged on January 11.
