DALL-E’s powerful AI image generator is now in beta

You no longer have to join a small club to test OpenAI’s intelligence DALL-E Image Generator. The corporation has launched a beta will make DALL-E available to 1 million people from the waiting list over the next few weeks. If you join, you’ll get 50 free image credits for the first month and 15 image credits every subsequent month. Each credit provides four images based on an original prompt, or three images if you give an edit or variation prompt. The 115 credits plan is available for $15 if the free bonus is not enough.

The beta also expands usage rights to include commercial projects. For example, you can print pictures on shirts or children’s books. However, OpenAI will still refuse to upload DALL-E images with real faces, named content (like a specific person or place), and “obscene” material. The Group remains concerned that people may misuse the technology to misinform, deepfakes and other harmful purposes.

The DALL-E has garnered a lot of buzz for its ability to create eye-catching images based on just a conventional description. It doesn’t ask you to provide every last detail. You can also edit certain parts of the image to achieve the desired effect. It’s both a showcase for the potential of AI and an incredibly capable creative tool – you don’t need to know the first thing about art to create something special.
