Dalika returns to Cardinal 1st place win site
One of the last grass stakes of Churchill Downs Fall could very well be the season for Bel Mar Equine’s career dalika as she filmed her victory scene of Beverly D. Stakes (G1T) in the $300,000 Cardinal Stakes (G3T) battle on November 24.
Owner Paul Varga has previously indicated that 2022 will be the last racing season for his hybrid Dalika. Since having my daughter Pastor after her underage campaign in France and sending her to American coach Al Stall Jr., Dalika racked up eight wins in 27 starts.
A 4- and 5-year-old bet winner, she shot to new heights as a 6-year-old this year, claiming consecutive graded bet wins in Beverly D. and Kentucky Downs Ladies Turf Stakes (G3T), the second race pushed her earnings past the $1 million mark.
Opting to skip the Breeders’ Cup, Dalika last ran in the Fall Harvest Stakes awarded by Mint Gaming Hall on the Classic extra card at Keenelandwhere she fainted to on Friday.

A mare that ran at full speed at the front of the carriage, Dalika would have to confront Godolphin’s adventure to win the speed-setting title in Thursday’s 1/8-mile grass-court test. 4-year-old Adventure Boy is a multi-stakes winner, touting polygon, slide and turf wins to coach Brad Cox. Twice starting back, she competed in the AGS Ladies Marathon Stakes (G3T) at Kentucky Downs.
Knocked out by Joel Rosario, Adventuring began their quest for a decent fourth place on the Taylor Stakes EP (G1T) at Honeysuckle.
Rounding the field is pass plate , The Act of Disappearance , persist , Lake Lucerne , sunny one , wide leg pants , Curly Ruth and Waves of kindness .
