Cuba Gooding Jr. reported settle a lawsuit from a woman who accused him of raping her a decade ago, just before the trial began.
The news was announced on Tuesday before jury selection began in New York federal court, according to Related press.

However, the trial was adjourned as both sides settled the matter in the minutes before the jurors gathered in the courtroom.
The lawsuit seeks $6 million in damages, but it’s still unclear exactly how much the parties have settled.
The outlet reports that the alleged victim will have to disclose her name at trial if it goes ahead. She claims Gooding Jr. raped her in a hotel room in New York City.
Meanwhile, the 55-year-old Oscar-winning actor insists the meeting was consensual. His lawyer even added that she bragged about having sex with a celebrity afterwards.

But authorities say more than 30 other women have accused the “Jerry Maguire” star of sexual misconduct. Gooding Jr. was accused of groping and forcibly kissing other victims, among other inappropriate acts.
In October 2022, he was given an agreement begging his lover and spent time behind bars for another sexual abuse case in Manhattan.
He was even cleared of his criminal record after completing the terms of the plea agreement, Shade room reported at that time.
Gooding’s six allegations of forced touching has been downgraded to second degree harassment. Then removed from his records after he completed six months of alcohol abuse and behavior modification treatment.
The actor is accused of kissing a woman against her will at a nightclub in 2018. He is also accused of groping two other women in NYC hot spots in 2019.
If this most recent case goes to trial, Gooding will likely face an uphill legal battle. AP report. Last week, the judge ruled that he would allow three women to testify about allegations they were sexually assaulted or attempted assault at the hands of Gooding.
