Cross-Progression is coming to Overwatch 2
Blizzard has announced that cross-development is coming to Overwatch 2, and starting today, you can merge multiple accounts into a single profile.
With Overwatch 2 set to release on October 4, That’s when the game will replace the original OverwatchNow is a great time to get all your cosmetics, loot boxes, and more in order. It’s also a great time to merge several accounts so you can freely switch between playing on PC and PlayStation. Luckily, Blizzard made that a reality today because you can now merge multiple accounts.
“With the introduction of cross-progress, players can merge multiple Overwatch accounts to bring in-game progress and cosmetics into Overwatch 2 on a single profile,” reads a press release. “Starting August 16, every player with a linked console account will be prompted to log in to identify, select, and confirm the accounts you want to merge. After your approval, we will prepare your accounts to be merged during the Overwatch 2 release.
“All players will need a battle.net account to play Overwatch 2, regardless of platform. Progress from linked console accounts will be stored on your battle.net account, which will share in-game cosmetics and progress across linked accounts. ”
Blizzard says there will only be one chance to merge console accounts, and you should double-check which account you’re merging before confirming. The studio knew there would be a lot of questions regarding this news, so the team prepared an extensive FAQ which you can see here with answers to questions like “how do I merge my accounts?” and more.
