Cristiano Ronaldo: Manchester United agent Jorge Mendes approaches Napoli for mobility | Football news

Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has approached Napoli about a potential move.

Mendes is working hard to find the solution Ronaldo wants – to play in the Champions League – but also to provide the solution for United, which is an alternative.

One offer Mendes made to Napoli was for Ronaldo to move there and United to buy Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

Sky Sports News Osimhen understands that Osimhen is an admired player at United and is on the list of possible replacements.

However, Napoli will only accept a three-figure offer for Osimhen and it is difficult to see how United can buy him for the money they are prepared to commit to buy Antony from Ajax.

That deal is getting closer and closer. Napoli were interested in Ronaldo when it was first revealed he wanted to leave Old Trafford at the start of the summer.

Removing Ronaldo from the salary bill would open up some funds for United for potential reinvestment, although how much remains unclear.

Mendes also proposed a solution involving AC Milan and winger Rafael Leo moving to United another way but this was rejected by Milan, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Ronaldo wants to move abroad for personal reasons and could achieve his wish if Man United find a suitable replacement.
