Could Dan Snyder be forced to sell the Commander?

Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder has long been a controversial figure, but Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio says his time as a recent NFL owner may have peaked. .

“For the first time, there was a feeling in the ownership circle that it was time for Daniel Snyder to move on.” Florio said in a report broadcast on Sunday.

The team – which was renamed Commander earlier this month – was recently investigated by attorney Beth Wilkinson for workplace misconduct. While the team was fined $10 million for its “extremely unprofessional” culture that included bullying, intimidation, and multiple allegations of sexual harassment, the results of Wilkinson’s investigation were never made public.

“If Wilkinson were required to submit a report, it would recommend that owner Daniel Snyder be forced to sell the team,” Florio reported.

But it was a recent congressional hearing that could have been “a straw that broke a camel’s back” for Snyder’s time as owner, Florio said. In early February, a former staff member of the group alleged inappropriate conduct by Snyder himself.

Those allegations will be investigated by the federation, and if Wilkinson is brought in to assist with a second investigation, that could push Snyder near the end of his stint as an NFL owner.
