Former Speaker of the National Assembly Sonia Gandhi participated in the online meeting, while the rest attended the meeting in person at the AICC headquarters here.
CEC members and party general secretary Mukul Wasnik and KC Venugopal, in addition to Mohsina Kidwai, Girija Vyas and Ambika Soni, were present at the meeting. All the Indian Congress Committee (AICC) in charge of Gujarat Raghu Sharma and the head of the party’s state unit, Jagdish Thakor, were also present.
Congress is seeking to oust the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the government in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hometown, where the saffron party has been in power for more than two decades.
Elections to the 182-member Gujarat Parliament will be held in two phases – December 1 and 5 while votes will be counted on December 8.
