Congress ‘continuously insulted’ Ambedkar: Amit Shah | Gujarat Election News

RAJKOT/SURENDRANAGAR/SURAT: Union Interior Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday was accused Conference on “continually insulting” BR Ambedkar and against the development of backward communities and pointing out anti-dam activist Narmada Medha Patkar joining Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat’ Jodo Yatra‘ as the “greatest insult” to the state by the opposition party.
Addressing a series of rallies in Jasdan (Rajkot), Dasada (Surendranagar) and Bardoli (Surat) in Gujarat, king said Congress had done unjustly repeatedly to Gujarat and has never tried to find a solution to the water problem since independence.
He noted BJP government for ending water scarcity in the Rajkot region of Gujarat and accusing Parliament of delaying the Sardar Sarovar Dam project. “The foundation stone of the Sardar Sarovar Dam was laid by India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in 1963, a year before I was born. The country finally arrived when I turned 58. So who delayed the Narmada project? The Congress Party stalled this project from 1963 to 2002,” he alleged.
“Rahul chose to follow a man who had deprived Gujarat of his right to take the Narmada state of Gujarat for 20 years. This is the biggest insult to the opposition party’s Gujarat,” Shah said.
Shah said Prime Minister Modi went on an indefinite hunger strike when he was the premier of Gujarat to protest the decision of the Congress-led UPA government not to increase the height of the dam.
“Parliament insults Babasaheb Ambedkar. They didn’t even give Bharat Ratna to Babasaheb.” he say.
