She and Chris first revealed they were expecting in April. At the time, she was about 13 weeks pregnant, according to Entertainment Tonight ExclusiveBassett also kept her pregnancy a secret from herself, her family and close friends. “Just quietly raise a cake,” she said

On Wednesday, the couple shared the gender of the cake Candiace baked in a video that began in black and white. The first-time mom admitted that she was hoping for a girl but would be “happy with whatever God gives us, as long as they’re healthy.” Chris, meanwhile, didn’t elaborate. The soon-to-be proud parents then blindfolded themselves, dipped their palms in paint, and drew on each other’s shirts and baby bumps.
They both had the biggest smiles on their faces after pulling back the curtain and realizing they were having a baby boy. Candiace got a little emotional and the couple leaned in for a kiss. Baby Bassett is due in the fall. Watch the sweet reveal below.
‘RHOP’ Alum Shares Her Son’s Nursery Theme and Her Food Preferences
US Weekly is the first time to report on Candiace’s gender reveal. In a chat with the outlet, the mom-to-be said she predicted she’d have a boy because of his “masculine energy.” For the nursery, the parents chose an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ theme, and she loves it!
“It was the most magical and indescribable experience,” she told US Weekly. “I think I’m actually going to miss it, but I also can’t wait to see him and see him all day!”
The foods she’s craving most from her fall baby (right now) are spaghetti with Olive Garden meat sauce, Apple Jacks cereal, and watermelon. Candiace added that her burger obsessions are a “good time.” In August, Dillard took to Instagram to share a sneak peek of her baby shower for their brainchild.
“When you’re running around, it’s easy to forget how lucky you are. I’m so grateful for my friends, my friends! My family! For reminding me that I am loved and showering me and @cbassett33 in such a special way. We ate and laughed and filled that room with so much joy and it was EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you ALL! We are SO blessed,” she wrote of the event.
While this is Candiace’s first time on the parenting show, her husband is making his fourth trip. He has three children from a previous relationship. As mentioned, the couple has been going through their pregnancy journey off-camera. Dillard said in March that she would be taking a break from the show to balance new opportunities and responsibilities.
