Concept Renault 4 EV: design, features, powertrain, range and production details

The reborn Renault 4 made its debut at the ongoing Paris Motor Show as a retro-styled electric SUV and will make its global debut in 2025.

Alongside the Renault 5 2025 hatchback, the Renault 4 with production specifications will be the second car to use the automaker’s CMF-BEV architecture and will be built alongside the 5 in China. Renault’s new ElectriCity production center in northern France.
Concept Renault 4: exterior design and dimensions
The concept shown at the Paris Motor Show is a bold off-road themed bodykit involving modified Renault 4s participating in the annual 4L Trophy race in the Moroccan desert.
Renault says the new 4 will be the most versatile car in its segment and while the production model is set to lose some of the more rugged hallmarks of the concept, the focus is on practicality and convenience. benefits will still be maintained.
With a length of 4,060mm and a wheelbase of 2,570mm, the concept is slightly smaller than the Captur but larger than the Clio sold overseas. Because there is no front engine and no transmission tunnel running through the cabin, it is capable of providing a spacious cabin. Renault has yet to reveal the interior of the four, but a reveal is expected next year.
Renault 4 Concept: Powertrain details
The Renault 4 will draw its power from a 42kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese battery placed under the floor of the vehicle and is expected to have a range of about 402 km. Power will be sent to a synchronous motor on the front axle, which will give the EV a 0-100 km/h time of under 10 seconds. It is possible that the Renault 4 could receive a more powerful variant or all-wheel drive at a later stage.
The original 4 was an important car for Renault and sold more than 8 million units during its three decades of production. In reviving the name and some of its signature design cues, Renault is hinting at similar volume aspirations for the new EV.
It remains to be seen whether the Renault 4 with production specifications will make it to the Indian market.
