Jamaica will play in a Commonwealth Games final for the first time in their history following a record 67-51 win over New Zealand in Saturday’s semi-final.

The outfit followed up their exceptional overall win over Australia with another clinical performance in the semi-finals.

Jamaica dominated defensively from the start and took a 36-22 lead in the first half against Silver Ferns. Shamera Sterling and Latanya Wilson set the tone in the circle, with Jodi-Ann Ward and Nicole Dixon-Rochester complementing them.

Captain Jhaniele Fowler made 54 of his 54 goals, before being rested in the final minutes and the whole team will be watching intently for the second semi-final at 2.30pm.

England will go to court for a rematch of the 2018 final and must beat Australia to ensure they are the team to face Jamaica in Sunday’s goal medal match.
