Coming One Ymbon wins Meghalaya’s Raliang assembly seat | Meghalaya Election News



SHILLONG: Coming One candidate of the National People’s Party (NPP) Ymbon won the parliamentary constituency 3-Raliang by defeating closest rival Lakhon Biam of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with 5,337 votes, according to ECI.

While Ymbon got 13,626 votes, Biam got 8,289 votes.
Meanwhile, NPP candidate Sniawbhalang Dhar won the Nartiang seat by a margin of 2,123 votes.
The counting of votes for council seats in Meghalaya began at 8am on Thursday amid tight security.
According to the latest trends, UDP leads in nine constituencies, while the BJP and Trinamool Congress lead by five seats each, and the Congress Party and the Voice of the People Party (VPP) lead by four seats each.
The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) and the People’s Democratic Front each led in two constituencies.
Meghalaya had 60 seats, but the vote for the Sohiong seat was postponed due to the death of one candidate.
