Comedian, Netflix Head David A. Arnold Dies Suddenly at 54


Comedian David A. Arnold died Wednesday at the age of 54, his family confirmed on Thursday.

Arnold, who has only been on three shows on his four-month national comedy tour “Pace Ya Self,” is perhaps best known for his two Netflix comedy specials.

He previously served as the host of Nickelodeon’s “That Girl Lay Lay”, as well as the producer of the reboot “Fuller House”.

The comedian’s sudden death was described by his family as “untimely”

His family described Arnold’s sudden death as “untimely” and added that “doctors have ruled the cause of death to be a natural cause,” according to the statement. LA time.

“We are deeply saddened to confirm the untimely passing of our husband, father, brother and friend, David A. Arnold,” his family told the LA Times.

“David passed away peacefully today at his home and the doctors have ruled natural causes of death.”

Arnold’s family went on to say that they are “all shocked and devastated by (his) loss.”

Comedian discusses career just a week before his death, reminded of the bombing on the first opening night of the microphone

Just a week before his death, Arnold discussed his comedy career with Jalen Rose for his weekly New York Post and recalls the bombing on his first open-mic night.

The Ohio native began his career at the Montreal Comedy Festival before appearing on “Jamie Foxx Presents Laffapalooza.”

His first special on Netflix was “David A. Arnold: Fat Ballerina” in 2019. He followed that up with a second special, “It Ain’t For The Weak,” produced by the actor. comedian Kevin Hart, in July this year.

Arnold is survived by his wife Julie Harkness and their two daughters, Anna-Grace and Ashlyn.
