ColorOS 13 Beta Release Date for Oppo Reno Series, K-Series, A-Series Smartphones Confirmed: Details
Oppo announced an update to ColorOS 13, based on Android 13, to the global market with the Oppo Find X5 Pro and Find X5 back in August. Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G is the first handset in India got a new OS version last month, followed by Oppo F21 Pro. Earlier, the company also confirmed that it will roll out the ColorOS 13 update for Oppo Reno 8 5G, Reno 7 Pro 5G, Reno 7 5G, Reno 6 5G, Oppo F21 Pro, Oppo K10 5G, and Oppo A76. Oppo has also now announced the exact date the beta upgrade will be available this month for each of these smartphones.
According to the announcement, Oppo Reno 8 5Gand Oppo K10 5G will start receiving ColorOS 13 beta update starts October 14th. Meanwhile, Oppo F21 Pro 5G models will begin receiving beta updates on October 18. Oppo K10, Oppo A96and Oppo A76 will get the latest beta update on October 21st. Oppo Reno 7 Pro 5G, Oppo Reno 7 5Gand Oppo Reno 6 5G will receive the update starting October 28.
However, users who wish to install the latest update must note that the ColorOS 13 user interface that will be released by the company in October is a beta update and therefore may contain bugs that may affect efficiency. ColorOS 13 has an Aquamorphic design inspired according to the fluidity of water, according to Oppo. It offers a new theme palette and a new font that is said to improve the readability of text in any language, according to the company. ColorOS 13 has a card-style layout for notifications and widgets, and the app icons have curved edges. It also brings a Quantum Animation Engine that enables Aquamorphic effects.
The new ColorOS update also offers a new always-on display (AOD) series called Home. AOD images show different animals in their natural habitat. AOD also received animations that are said to reveal changes in the animals’ habitats. The company also released the Dynamic Calculation Engine with ColorOS 13. According to Oppo, the new engine will provide a smoother and more stable user experience by increasing the battery life of the phone and providing the ability to hold more More tasks run in the background.
Oppo previously announced that with Smart AOD on ColorOS 13, users will be able to access information from food and music delivery apps directly from the lock screen. The company has partnered with several companies such as Bitmoji, Spotify, Swiggy, and Zomato to integrate this feature into Smart AOD. Additionally, the company has reduced the AOD refresh rate to 1 hertz using LTPO 2.0 technology. The company claims that this can save about 30% of electricity in “some cases”.
The company has also added a feature called Meeting Assistant, which can automatically prioritize wireless data plans to provide a stable connection. It also “simplifies” banner notifications to reduce distractions. With the ColorOS 13 update, the multi-screen connection feature now supports sharing on Oppo handsets, Oppo Pad Air and Oppo desktops. According to the company, an improved version of the multi-monitor connection will increase productivity.
Furthermore, ColorOS 13 integrates the basic security features of Android 13. Oppo’s Auto Pixelate feature is also provided with a new version of the operating system to recognize and blur profile pictures and names in chat screenshots. ColorOS 13 also brings a new Encrypted Private Security feature with the widely used Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), for a higher level of security, according to the company.
