CoD: Warzone 2 Will Bring Gulag 1v1 Back With Part 2 Update, Developer Confirms

Infinity Ward has confirmed that one of the Call of the Mission: Warzone 2less common changes will be reverted in the upcoming Season 2 update. Al Mazarh is shrinking the Gulag for a more traditional Warzone 1 experience.
The sequel to the original battle royale overhauled the Gulag from a 1v1 arena to a larger 2v2 battle, also including the added threat of a shotgun-wielding NPC rival “Jailer”. Al Mazarh’s Gulag was not well received because force the player to cooperate with another random playersince matches are usually random, AFK players or pairs don’t have any communication.
1v1 is back in Battle Royale.

Now, Infinity Ward tweeted to announce that 1v1 battles will return with the Gulag changes made in the Season 2 update. It’s unclear if the return to smaller battles will remove Jailer and his shotgun. ta or not, but the developer says more details will be revealed in a blog post next week.
This news comes after a day Activision confirms Season 2 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 are being delayed two weeks before. Originally set for February 1, Season 2 will now launch on February 15, giving developers more time to make changes based on player feedback. A brand new smaller Warzone map and Respawn mode will also appear alongside the 1v1 Gulag for Season 2.
The last major update for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 is back in December at the start Part 1 is reloaded. Mid-season content includes the Chimera assault rifle, the multiplayer map Shipment, a new DMZ location, and Call of Duty’s First Raid.
