CoD: Warzone 2.0 could make Island of Rebirth and Fortune’s Keep disappear, leak suggested

Call of Duty: Warzone just received the final seasonal update with Season 5 Reloaded on September 28, and with the impending arrival of Warzone 2.0, a leaker claims the battle royale’s smaller Resurgence maps will be gone.

Warzone is confirmed to continue operating after the launch of Warzone 2.0 on November 16th, as Activision explained before The current version of Warzone will “continue like this as a separate experience that will include continued player growth and inventory in that Warzone experience.” However, the publisher has yet to confirm which of the three maps will still be available after the release of Warzone 2.0.

Ghost of hope, a notable Call of Duty leaker, has stated that both Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep will disappear when Warzone 2.0 is released, leaving only Caldera. The same goes for journalists Tom Henderson announced on Twitter that the current version of Warzone will be renamed “Warzone Caldera.”

This potential news could be a blow to many Warzone players. Warzone Pacific launched with a rough start, and although Caldera map has been improved in quality in the last few seasons it didn’t seem as popular as the other maps. A larger fanbase may exist around Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep due to the smaller map design, which provides a faster-paced Call of Duty experience.

Ghost Of Hope’s statement sounds like a valid move for Activision, as the publisher likely wants as many players as possible to switch to Warzone 2.0, avoiding a situation where players are largely split over two battle royale version.
