Cobra Kai Season 6: Netflix renews Karate Kid spinoff series for final season
Streaming service Netflix has announced that the popular series Cobra Kai will end with its upcoming sixth season. The streamer shared the news on Friday with a video message teasing that the show’s final chapter will be the “worst” part of the series.
Grand cobra is a spinoff series connected to Karate boy franchise under the competitive martial arts world in Southern California. The series begins on YouTube for the first two seasons, before moving on to Netflix.

The film stars the original Karate Kid stars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka along with an ensemble cast that includes Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Mariduena, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni DeCenzo, Peyton List, Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith.
In a statement, posted on the official website Twitter handling the show, creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg called the decision to end the series “mixed bittersweet”.
“Re-acquainting the world with the ‘Karate Kid’ universe is our humble honor. The creation of ‘Cobra Kai’ has allowed us to join the same divine dojo that was once inhabited by Robert. The great Mark Kamen, John Avildsen, Jerry Weintraub, and all the great original cast.
“It also allowed us to play the role of sensei, expanding the original storyline and giving birth to a new generation of underdogs. We never took this opportunity lightly,” they said.

The trio said they were happy to be able to end the series on “our terms, leaving the Valley at the time and place we’ve always imagined”.
“While this may be a bittersweet day for the fandom, the Miyagi universe has never been stronger. This fandom is the BEST on the planet and we hope to tell more stories about it. ‘Karate Kid’ with you. Because as we all know, Cobra Kai Never Dies,” they concluded.
