Claressa Shields vs Savannah Marshall confirmed on October 15 after postponement | Boxing News

Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall’s undisputed title battle has officially been rescheduled to October 15 after being postponed following the Queen’s death.

Shields vs Marshall was originally slated to take place on Saturday September 10 as a title fight on an all-female historic card, but the long-awaited feud has had a new day at The O2.

The British boxing control board has decided to push the fight back along with postponing other sporting events and tournaments as the country enters a period of mourning.

The bottom bracket remains unchanged ahead of the new date, with Mikaela Mayer and Alycia Baumgardner set to battle for the WBC, WBO and IBF featherweight superweight titles.

Shields is currently the unified WBA, WBC and IBF middleweight world champion, while Marshall holds the WBO belt.

Their rivalry dates back to 2012 when Marshall beat Shields as an amateur, which to this day remains the only flaw in the perfect American record.

BOXXER would like to thank the Professional Gladiators Federation and PFL CEO Peter Murray for allowing Shields to participate in the match on October 15, within the framework of the PFL Finals previously scheduled for November 25.

All tickets purchased for the original Shields vs Marshall date are still valid for October 15. The last remaining tickets can be purchased at boxxer.com.
