ChromeOS 104 is now out: What’s new
Google The ChromeOS 104 update is now live. The company has started rolling out the latest update for ChromeOS globally and it brings a number of new changes, interface updates, bug fixes and more. However, this is a phased rollout and may take some time to reach all areas. This is everything new with ChromeOS 104 update.
Updated dark and light themes
ChromeOS 104 brings updated dark and light themes to the operating system. The new themes make system-wide changes, which means it affects all parts of the user interface including the app launcher, the Files app, the Settings page’s background image, the body, etc. In addition, Google has also included new wallpapers that change from dark and light and vice versa according to the theme. The updated dark theme can be found on the second page of Quick Settings.
Updated month and day position in price
With the ChromeOS 104 update, Google has also made some adjustments to the month and date placement on shelves. Now they appear to the left of the time. Clicking on it opens the calendar and it now also has the ability to show all your events daily.
Grouped notification pop-ups
The update also brings some neat changes to the notifications. It used to appear on top of other notifications before. Going forward, messages from the same sender are now grouped together.
Redesigned Launcher
Initially, Google started testing a compact version of the launcher with some ChromeOS users. With the update, the company is rolling it out on a broader scale. Along with that, the quick search feature has also been updated with the ability to search for Android apps from the Google Play Store.
Updated Gallery app
The gallery app has been updated with more features. It currently comes with PDF support and also has the ability to fill out forms, sign documents, and add text annotations.
