chrome: Chrome 103 beta is now live: Web browser what’s new


Google recently implemented Chrome browser 102 stable updates to users. Nearly a day later, the company dropped Chrome 103 to the beta channel for users to try out the upcoming features of this web browser.
The Chrome 103 beta The update brings some small improvements and new features to the browser. According to the changelog, most of the features are backend changes aimed at providing a better browsing experience and improving overall speed. Here’s a list of everything new with the Chrome 103 update.
Website loading speed is faster
According to the official blog post, Chrome 103 supports HTTP response code 103 Early Hints for navigation. When the 103 response includes or other link headers, Chromium tries to preload (and/or pre-connect, prefetch) the specified resources before a final response is received. This gives web developers a way to optimize core web important things, such as Paint has the greatest content (LCP).
Access Local Fonts
Another notable feature the browser received with the Chrome 103 update is access to local fonts. Web applications can now list local fonts and metadata about each. The new API also gives web applications access to table data stored in local fonts, allowing those fonts to be displayed in their applications using custom text stacks. .
Support .avif for Web sharing
The .avif image file format can now be shared using Web Sharing. The web sharing API has been ported to more platforms like ChromeOS and Windows, but avif is not yet supported.
