Chris Eubank Sr now calls for a ‘boycott’ of Son’s fight against Benn
Chris Eubank Sr has spoken out once again about his son’s war with Conor Benn – a fight that rekindles a family feud started by Senior and Nigel Benn three decades ago.
Despite the seemingly perfect plot for the semifinals, two boxers in different weight classes and that has commanded most of the conversation surrounding it. Chris Eubank Jr will have to come in 3lb less than he normally would and Benn will gain 10lb to reach the agreed 157lb weight.
While Eubank Jr said he could safely do it and the British Boxing Control Board was watching him, one man disagreed – his father. Initially, Senior was supposed to be in his son’s corner for the fight, but he was strongly opposed instead.
With the excuse that cutting weight is dangerous, Eubank Sr has now gone out several times to beg those involved to pull the fight. Despite the relatively optimistic words from Junior that his father might be coming, that doesn’t seem to have happened.
In a statement released to the podcast The Fight is Right hosted by Tunde Ajayi and Spender Fearon, Eubank Sr continued to decline.
“Dear Spencer and the War is right,
Boycott the war. Livingstone [Eubank] Jr vs Benn. You know what’s below the average weight limit at 33 can do 3lb. This is how brain injuries happen.”

The statement came at the same time DAZN released their latest promotional documentary about the war. Ironically, it focuses on Conor and Nigel Benn’s relationship before the war – which seems to be the exact opposite of Eubanks just now.
Eubank Sr, apart from clips of his battle with Benn, has yet to have any auction events, and his comments about brain injury and the danger to his son do not exist. could be of great help to the legitimacy of the conflicting weight class among fans.
Despite his father’s call to boycott the fight, Eubank Jr will face Conor Benn this Saturday in London, available to UK fans through DAZN’s new PPV platform.
