Via Barry Holbrook: Chris Eubank Jr has revealed that his celebrity dad Chris Sr will be gearing up for the October 8 game against Conor Benn at the O2 Arena in London, England.
Eubank Sr working on the 32-year-old’s corner is a move to generate interest from fans nostalgic about his fight with Conor’s father, Nigel Benn. Those two former world champions had two excellent matches in 1990 and 1993.
If Eubank Jr (32-2, 23 KOs) is in top form, he probably doesn’t need his corner dad to beat the inexperienced Conor Benn (21-0, 14 KOs) who has never been. fought anyone close to Chris’ level during his brief career.
Heavyweight Benn was not only underpowered in this fight, but he had no nearby preparation to handle this type of fighter. It’s not nearly fair, and the 157 lb weight and rehydration terms won’t change anything.

“I’m top of the year in every regulatory agency. I want to fight Thurman, Ugas, Jose Ramirez and Barrios. We have provided them. They do not care. Be it promotional, financial, whatever it is. It was not the right decision for them.
“Eubank is one of those names, and that’s really progressing rapidly. I don’t want an active fight. I don’t want a fight to beat me now and have another one of them fight each other.
“I wanted the next big battle, and the Eubank battle happened, and I believe that makes sense. It was a legacy war; it’s a big war, and it’s a war that can happen right now.
“Let’s make it clear. People are going out with; I’m trying to lose weight for him. He recommends weight,” Benn said of the 157 lb catch. “He and his team suggested weights.
“Now be a man of your words and make weight. He suggested weight, and we agreed. We are satisfied with the weight. If you knew how much I weigh now, you would be surprised.
“So it was a matter of him gaining weight. We like to give heavy fines, so we make sure he considers it carefully. Clear, he has no intention of gaining weight‘ said Ben.
