China’s Ex-President Escorted Out, Sat Next To Xi Jinping

Video: Former President of China was kicked out of the house, sitting next to Xi Jinping

Hu Jintao was suddenly escorted out of the Communist Party congress

Former Chinese President Hu Jintao, Xi Jinping’s immediate predecessor, was unexpectedly escorted out of the closing ceremony of the ruling Communist Party’s congress on Saturday.

Hu, 79, who sat to Xi’s left, was led out of the main stage of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing by two managers, a Reuters witness at the congress said.

Hu looked a little wobbly last Sunday when he was assisted on the same stage for the opening ceremony of the congress.

The five-yearly congress ended with amendments to the party’s constitution that affirmed Xi’s core status and his role as the political ideological guide within the party.
