New York Racing Association, Inc. announced that their annual “Tots for Tots” giveaway will take place on Saturday, December 3, Cigars Day, at the Aqueduct Raceway. The event, a long-standing holiday tradition at Big A, is being held in partnership with the Marine Reserve Toy Foundation for Tots.
Toys for Tots collects and distributes new, unpackaged toys to local children in need each holiday season. There will be a number of ways to contribute over the donation weekend—at the donation boxes at the entrances to Turf and Field, the Club lobby near the escalators in the Aqueduct, and also online.
Online donations are accepted through the following link: https://www.toysfortots.org/donate/ using a credit card or by selecting and gifting toys through the organization’s virtual toy box. You can also donate with a check mailed to the “Marine Reserve Fund for the Tots Foundation” and addressed to: United States Marine Corps; Notes: GySgt, John Sardine; 605 Stewart Avenue; Garden City, NY 11530.
“Ensuring that needy children across New York City and across Long Island enjoy the holiday season has always made this weekend giving a gift,” said Pat McKenna, NYRA Vice President of Communications specially. “Race fans have been generous in the past and we look forward to their continued sincere commitment to our community.”
As part of the Marine Corps Reserve Toy Foundation’s support for the Tots, the NYRA is making a financial contribution to the organization.
NYTHA President Joe Appelbaum said: “NYTHA would like to thank the Marines Toy Reserve Foundation for Tots and their efforts in providing toys to underprivileged children in the area. area. “Our riders take great pride in supporting these children and making sure they can enjoy a great holiday.”
