Moretti (Medaglia d’Oro–Rigoletta, by Concerto), a two-time bet winner in the marathons and twice placed in Level II, will begin guarding mares at the Chesapeake Ranch in the coming weeks and herdsmen reared to the farm before the barn opens on February 1st. 14 will be favored to sponsor a beautiful 7-year-old child.
Moretti is now the property of Erik and Pavla Nygaard’s Thor-Bred Stables, who bred and sold the foal for $900,000 as the avid Fasig-Tipton Saratoga before buying it back for $30,000. mule at Fasig-Tipton Selling racehorses last July.
For a limited time, breeders who come to inspect Moretti will receive a free written report analyzing their chosen mare with Moretti and three other stallions selected by the breeder, as well as a review of family racing tendencies, pedigree blends and physical matches.
“We want to give breeders all the information they need to make the best choice for their mare,” said Pavla Nygaard. “By providing these reports, we are confident that breeders will see the advantages of breeding Moretti, who has a unique blend of proven talent and stamina, gorgeous looks and lineage.”
A half-brother to the late ‘TDN Rising Star’ and GI Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile Battle of Midway (Smart Strike) winner, Moretti comes from the female family of GISW Patternrecognition (Adios Charlie) and Musical Romance (Concorde’s Tune) women’s sprint champion).

Moretti will insure the mare for a fee of $5,000.
