Charles III is proclaimed king in TV first
Charles III was proclaimed king in a historic ceremony – the first to be broadcast on television.
Charles became king shortly after the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II, but a historic meeting officially confirmed his role on Saturday.
During the Accession Council, the King approved the date of the Queen’s funeral to be a bank holiday, although it is unknown when it will take place.
